Kansas 2nd District Congressman Jake LaTurner announced on Thursday that he would not be a candidate for re-election this year.
In a statement issued from his Washington office, LaTurner said it’s time to pursue other opportunities and spend more time with his family.
LaTurner went on to say, “While I will not be a candidate in 2024 or the state elections in 2026, I am hopeful that in another season of life, with new experiences and perspectives, I can contribute in some small way and advocate for the issues I care most about. ”
LaTurner, 36, is finishing his second term in office.
