1. A total solar eclipse will pass over North America today, with almost 32 million Americans living in its path. It marks the last total solar eclipse visible in the US for the next 20 years.

2. Another black eye for Boeing. A Southwest Airlines flight had to return to Denver after an engine cover fell off after take off.

3. No. 1 South Carolina won the women’s NCAA basketball championship yesterday, beating Caitlin Clark and No. 1 Iowa by a score of 87-75. The victory caps a perfect 38-0 season for the Gamecocks and avenges a loss to the Hawkeyes in last year’s semifinals.

4. Superman’s first comic comes with a super hefty price tag. The 1938, original print edition of Action Comics Number One was sold for six-million dollars this week at an auction. Heritage Auctions claims this makes it the most valuable comic book in the world

5.  AND a man’s being ordered to pick up the trash. A Northeast Iowa sheriff’s department says they tracked down the man who dumped box springs and mattresses as well as bags of trash in a ditch on a rural road.  Along with picking up the trash, he was given a $5,000 fine.  A mattress, box spring and bags – that’s not littering, that’s you wife just kicked yoru cheatin’, no good, lazy behind out the door…..
