Here are the 5 things you need to know today

1. Severe weather will be a big topic of discussion today. Over 50 million people could see some threat of severe storms including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri. The main area of interest on Monday stretches from northeastern Texas to western Indiana, where the Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has an enhanced risk for severe storms in place.  Dallas, Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Springfield and St. Louis are among the cities in the enhanced risk zone, where the main threats are tornadoes (some could be EF2+), large to very-large hail (greater than 2 inches in diameter) and damaging wind gusts.

2. College Basketball’s Final 4 is set – and I’d be surprised if many had NC State upsetting Duke, but that’s just what happened yesterday. They beat Duke 76-64 and are making their first Final 4 appearance since 1983. Saturday The Wolfpack will play Purdue and Alabama will battle UCONN.

3. The last “T” in AT&T might stand for trouble. If you are an AT&T customer, you know they’ve been on the struggle bus lately. Last month the big network outage and now they are confirming a data breach. They  reported an estimated 7.6 million active accounts, and more than 65 million former accounts had info leaked to the dark web; AT&T has since initiated a mass passcode reset

4. This is no April Fool’s joke….Krispy Kreme is offering a dozen original glazed for $4.01 when you buy a dozen donuts. So if you want to surprise your coworkers with donuts today….this is the day to do it.

5. and it’s time to get creative with your carry-on. American Airlines is relaxing it’s pet policy. Until this week, people who carried a pet into the cabin — which involves paying a $150 fee — could only have one other small item that fit under the seat. Anything bigger, like a carry-on bag with wheels, needed to be checked — for a $35 fee. Or they could put the pet in the cargo hold. Now American is letting passengers bring a pet in the cabin and also bring a regular carry-on bag or a personal item — just not both bags.  A dog barking for a 5 hour flight…there better be booze on the plane….
