Pawnee County officials said a 67-year-old Larned man was arrested after a fatal shooting Saturday at a rural home.
The shooting was reported around 5 p.m. on a property on K-19 Highway south of Larned. A man was found with a gunshot wound and he was taken to the Pawnee Valley Community Hospital where he later died. He has been identified as 52-year-old Dr. Tomas Garza of Larned. Investigators said the shooting was the result of an argument.
The suspect was arrested at the scene on charges of second degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is working with the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office on the investigation.
