As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, the annual Statewide Tornado Drill will be held in Kansas on Wednesday.
The drill has been held on Tuesdays in the past, but it was moved to Wednesday this year to coincide with the weekly NOAA weather radio test. The drill will be conducted at 11 a.m. and a simulated tornado warning will be issued. The National Weather Service will issue a Routine Weekly Test (RWT) to NOAA Weather Radios to initiate the drill.
Cities and counties will be sounding tornado sirens during the drill.
