WICHITA, KAN. — Goodwill Industries of Kansas is pleased to announce the grand opening of its newest retail location in Wichita. The new retail store is located at 11027 E 29th St N, on a 2.2 acre property and features a stateof-the-art 24,000 square-foot facility that was designed by Schaefer Architecture and built by Dondlinger Construction.
“We are excited to open our doors and bring our unique shopping experience to residents in this area,” said Laura Ritterbush, President/CEO of Goodwill Industries of Kansas. “This expansion reflects our goal to provide more essential services and programs to those in need. By adding this store, we are providing a convenient shopping and donating experience to a fastgrowing area of Wichita.” Goodwill’s retail stores exist to support its mission to provide opportunities to individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment.
Goodwill’s mission provided more than 4,300 program services in 2023, impacting the lives of Kansans across the state. “By shopping and donating at Goodwill, the community is supporting individuals with disabilities and barriers,” said Goodwill board chair, Raymond Dondlinger. “For example, Goodwill provides the adult education program, NexStep Alliance, that provides GED instruction classes for those seeking a Kansas high school diploma, and English-as-a-Second Language and Citizenship integration classes.”
The ceremony will kick-off the multi-day event including brief remarks from Goodwill leadership and local elected officials and ribbon cutting Friday, March 1, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Festivities will continue through Saturday, March 2, with giveaways, prizes and food trucks. The public is invited to join the Goodwill community in celebrating and to see firsthand how their support helps transform lives.
