An unidentified woman was taken to a hospital after a shooting early Wednesday afternoon at a west Wichita hotel.
Officers had responded to an unrelated call at the hotel in the 5800 block of West Kellogg. When the shooting was reported, they found a woman in her 20s with a gunshot wound to her leg. She was taken to a hospital where she underwent surgery.
There were several other people in the room where the shooting took place, but they left before police arrived. Investigators are still looking into the circumstances of the shooting.
