UPDATE:  Some schools in south central Kansas will be closed again Wednesday because of the winter storm that moved through the area Monday and Tuesday.

USD 373 Newton will not have classes Wednesday and there will be no NRC Clubhouse services.

USD 460 Hesston will have no school and no activities on Wednesday.

USD 308 Hutchinson will not have classes on Wednesday.

USD 310 Fairfield will be closed Wednesday, activities canceled.

USD 311 Pretty Prairie will be closed Wednesday.

USD 312 Haven will be closed Wednesday.

USD 313 Buhler will not have classes Wednesday.

USD 369 Burrton will be closed Wednesday.

USD 397 Centre will not have classes Wednesday, all activities have been canceled.

USD 398 Peabody-Burns will be closed Wednesday

USD 405 Lyons will not have classes Wednesday.

USD 408 Marion will be closed Wednesday.

USD 410 Hillsboro will not have classes Wednesday

USD 411 Goessel will be closed Wednesday.

USD 418 McPherson will not have classes Wednesday.

USD 419 Canton-Galva will be closed Wednesday, evening activities canceled.

USD 423 Moundridge will be closed Wednesday.

USD 439 Sedgwick will not have classes Wednesday.

USD 440 Halstead will be closed Wednesday.

USD 448 Inman will be closed on Wednesday.

USD 546 Hesston will not have classes Wednesday, activities canceled.

USD 487 Herington will not have classes Wednesday.


A number of schools were affected Tuesday by the winter storm that brought blizzard conditions to much of Kansas.

Classes were canceled in Wichita, Derby, Valley Center, Maize, Haysville, Newton, El Dorado and a number of other districts.

Wichita State University went to remote operations.  All critical campus buildings are open, and employees who support these operations are expected to report to campus.  Pre-session classes were moved to remote delivery.

Friends University campus was closed and staff went to remote work.

WSU Tech buildings were closed and classes will be held virtually.

Butler Community College will close all locations Tuesday.

The KU School of Medicine had its Wichita campus open Tuesday, but students and staff are urged to work remotely if possible.

 


OTHER CLOSINGS:

The Sedgwick County Zoo will be closed Tuesday.

Cowtown and Botanica are closed Tuesday.

The Kansas Humane Society is closed Tuesday and plans to reopen at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Starkey main centers and day programs will be closed Tuesday.

Rainbows United is closed Tuesday.
