Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute, honors retired U.S. Army Sergeant Major, Veteran Eugene Petersen. Eugene recently celebrated his 101st birthday with family and friends at Travis Air Force Base in California, where he volunteers several days a week. He served in the military for an impressive 59 years and then 14 years in the U.S. Post Office. When asked what the secret to his longevity is, his daughter said it’s because he is always doing something and keeps moving. Eugene has a different answer, he credits his favorite beverage, Dr. Pepper. Cheers Eugene and THANK YOU for your service.
