A Dodge City teenager who had been missing for several weeks was found dead Tuesday in his crashed vehicle in Ford County.
17-year-old Cody Ceniceros had been missing since November 24th, when he was last seen leaving the home of a family friend. Dodge City police said a property owner found a crashed vehicle in a field in a remote area of Ford County off 117 Road and Lariat Way. Preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle left the roadway, drove through a farm field east of the intersection, went airborne, and rolled over.
A Dodge City police detective confirmed that the vehicle was Cody’s and identified his body at the scene. Preliminary information indicates that Cody died immediately in the crash.
A Kansas Highway Patrol fatality crash team was called to the scene, and an autopsy has been ordered.
