Embattled New York Congressman George Santos has been expelled from Congress. The House voted 311-to-114 to remove Santos, with two members of Congress voting present.

The Republican is just the third member of congress to be expelled since the Civil War.

The House Ethics Committee spent months interviewing 40 witnesses and pouring over 172,000 pages of documents. They concluded that Santos blatantly stole money from his campaign to pay for rent, designer goods, and even botox. Santos has already been charged with 23 federal counts, including identity theft and credit card fraud. He has pleaded not guilty.
