Today, JJ’s Star Spangled Salute honors Veteran Shirley McPhail. One day, in her hometown of Neodasha, KS a recruiter came to Shirley’s school and that was the beginning of a journey that would see Shirley serving her country in several different capacities for several decades. From being a medical specialist in the Women’s Army Corp, being stationed in Indiana and Germany to joining the reserves, arriving in Wichita and filling a variety of roles in her 30 years in the reserves. Shirley continues to volunteer for the Kansas Honor Flight and at the Thrift Shop at McConnell Air Force Base. Thank you for sharing your story Shirley and THANK YOU for your service.
