Man convicted in northeast Kansas murder dies in prison

An inmate serving time for first degree murder has died at the Hutchinson Correctional Facility.

Corrections officials said 55-year-old Michael Rogers died Monday.  The Kansas Department of Corrections and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation are looking into the cause of death, under standard protocol.   An autopsy will be conducted.

Rogers was serving a 354-month sentence for a 1994 murder in Shawnee County.
