Four people escaped safely from an Andover house fire.
It happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1800 block of North Columbine. When firefighters arrived at the home they found flames coming from the garage that had spread into the attic space.
They were able to bring the fire quickly under control, but the flames had spread through the attic to the space above the living room. The home also suffered smoke damage inside.
The cause is still under investigation, but appears to be accidental. Andover Fire was assisted by units from Sedgwick County, Wichita, and Benton, as well as Butler County EMS.
