Colorado investigators identify suspect in case of two murdered Kansas women

A man recently arrested in Emporia, Kansas has been identified as a suspect in the murders of two Emporia women whose bodies were found in Colorado.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said bodies that were found in a rural area south of Eads, Colorado have been identified as 44-year-old Linda Estrada and 39-year-old Amy Ford.   They were reported missing by their families in early September.   Emporia police traced them to Colorado, and their bodies were found in Kiowa County, Colorado on September 20th.   The bodies were identified by the Kiowa County Coroner’s Office on September 27th.

A 35-year-old Emporia man was arrested September 11th after a police chase.   Police said the man rammed his vehicle into an SUV and then crashed on the Kansas Turnpike near the Emporia service exit.    An arrest warrant was issued for the man in connection with the Colorado investigation.
