It takes a lot for a remake to get my attention. In my opinion, sadly, a lot of remakes are just the same song with a different voice. With that said, there are two reasons why MacKenzie Carpenter got my attention with “Country Girls (Just Wanna Have Fun):
- MacKenzie changed the lyrics up — same tempo but a few new lyrics really ‘countrified’ the song
- I grew up in the 80’s and this song was a absolute must on the mix tape
