The former St. John’s Military Academy will have new life.
The Academy closed in May after 131 years following a series of abuse claims and a federal lawsuit. Saint Francis Ministries has agreed to take over the St. John’s campus.
The agency say they will be partnering with the Salina community, local businesses and other organizations to determine other uses for the campus. St. John’s Military School Historical Museum, a separate non-profit entity will also be established at Linger Hall on the campus.
It will house artifacts and provide information about the school’s history to visitors. Monuments from around the former campus will be moved to the exterior of Linger Hall.
All building names and the building already established on campus will remain unchanged.
