Man arrested for Riverside deaths, victims ID’d

A 62-year-old Wichita man is in jail for two deaths in the Riverside area.

Wichita police report 50-year-old Vanessa Crawford and 58-year-old
Donald Eckert, both of Wichita, were found fatally shot in a home near 11th and Woodrow. They were found around 7:30 Tuesday morning by someone dropping off a child for daycare.

While officer were at the scene, the 62-year-old suspect showed up pointing a gun at himself. This led to a standoff but the man eventually surrendered. He’s since been booked into jail for two counts of first-degree murder.
