Wichita Park and Recreation will host the 8th annual Red, White & BOOM fireworks show on Tuesday, July 4th.
It will be from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in downtown Wichita, with fireworks starting at 9:40 p.m.
You can watch the fireworks from the Hyatt Lawn, 400 W. Waterman St or inside Riverfront Stadium, 300 S. Sycamore. Gates will open at 6 p.m. at Riverfront Stadium with free admission for all. Food trucks will also be staged on the Hyatt lawn, 400 W. Waterman.
There will be several road/path closures during the event:
- McLean Blvd will close from Maple to Douglas from 5 p.m. on July 4th until the fireworks show ends at approximately 10:30 p.m., and starting at the Hyatt entrance extending to the end of Lewis St. bridge at Maple and McLean Blvd.
- The Arkansas River will be closed from the Lewis St. bridge to north of the Hyatt property line.
- The walking path along the west side of the Arkansas River that is adjacent to Riverfront Stadium will be closed from 7 a.m.-10:30 p.m.
Wichita Fire Department’s River Rescue team will be patrolling the area to ensure everyone’s safety during the event.
