What’s not to love about Iam Tongi’s story.  It seems like his mistique and popularity grew with each song, not just each show, on this season of American Idol.  We literally watched this kid grow into a man, on stage.  Being vulnerable, telling his story of loss and how he basically rose like a phoenix from the ashes of Mt. Kīlauea in his home state of Hawaii. With Keith Urban, Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson, the judges and other starts present – American voted – and it was Iam Tongi.  He’s special, like Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson special.

Congratulations Iam….go do amazing things.

Oh…but the other story of the night was that Jelly Roll and Lainey Wilson performance of “Save Me”  leading into “I Need A Favor”….LORD!! that was FIRE!!
