The Sedgwick County Emergency Communications Center is opening their non-emergency line for the Fourth of July holiday. The line was established to prevent nuisance calls that can block emergency calls from reaching a call taker and is activated during times of historically high call volumes. The number is 316-290-1011 and will be open the following days and times:
▪️ 6 p.m. July 1 through 2:30 a.m. July 2
▪️ 6 p.m. July 2 through 2:30 a.m. July 3
▪️ 6 p.m. July 3 through 2:30 a.m. July 4
▪️ 6 p.m. July 4 through 2:30 a.m. July 5
▪️ 6 p.m. July 6 through 2:30 a.m. July 7
The line is meant to receive non-emergency nuisance calls such as reporting parties, excess noise, or fireworks violations. If someone calls 911 with a non-emergency, they will be transferred to the non-emergency line.
