Goodwill Industries of Kansas Leadership and Board of Directors broke ground on a new retail store in Wichita on Thursday.
The location will be on a 2.2 acre property purchased by Goodwill near 29th & Greenwich. The 25,000-square-foot store will feature a 12,000-square-foot sales floor and drive-thru donation and employ up to 50 people.
The addition of a new store aims to help Goodwill generate the funds necessary to support the expansion of mission services like NexStep Alliance and provide support services for individuals with disabilities and other barriers to employment.
Construction is set begin immediately on the $5.1 million facility, which is expected to be open in early 2024.
