Three separate crashes Friday evening resulted in one death and two critical injuries around the Wichita area.

Around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, 21-year-old Russell Griffith was driving his motorcycle on Kellogg’s northbound I-235 exit. He then drove off the roadway and hit the ditch, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. The crash caused I-235 to be limited to one lane of travel for some time afterward.

Another crash happened just before the 6 p.m. on Friday in the 1500 block of N. Webb Rd in East Wichita. The individual suffered critical injuries and the incident prompted a heavy emergency response in the area.

Lastly, a pedestrian was injured after being hit by vehicle in Southeast Wichita.

It happened just after 8 p.m. on Friday at the intersection of E. Mount Vernon and Elpyco Ave (Southeast of Harry and Oliver).

No further details have been released on any of the incidents, along with updates on the victims’ conditions. The crashes are under investigation.
