Michael Jackson had a pet chimpanzee back in the 80’s named Bubbles. Bubbles used to sleep in a crib in MJ’s bedroom. Well, cute little Bubbles just celebrated his 40th birthday.
Bubbles now lives in Florida at the Center for Great Apes. They celebrated his birthday with a bubble-themed party.
He no doubt enjoyed his special cake frosted with mashed bananas with his name spelled out in blueberries. Nice touch!
Michael purchased Bubbles as an infant in 1983 from a Texas research facility. At about 6, chimps become too big to keep. He was moved to a California Ranch and later to the Center for Great Apes in 2005.
Bubbles now stands close to 5 feet tall and weighs 185 pounds. And he’s added a little grey to his face.
