The Kansas Highway Patrol and other law enforcement agencies were involved in a high speed chase Sunday evening that led through several counties in southern Kansas. Two people were taken into custody after the chase.
The chase began in Kiowa County around 5:30 p.m. and went east into Pratt and Kingman counties.
Law enforcement lost the driver at some point, but the suspect’s car was later found abandoned and on fire. Two suspects were found hiding in a nearby field and were arrested.
Officials say the chase started with attempt to pull the suspect over for reckless driving.
