Fidelity Bank announces major project for downtown Wichita

Fidelity Bank has announced plans for a $51 million expansion that will  include a ten-story tower and a 505-stall parking garage.   The project is called RISE: A Beacon of Progress.

In a post on Fidelity’s web site, plans were announced for a two-phase construction project, starting with the parking garage.  The five-story garage will be located on Market between Waterman and English and it will include 17,00 square feet of retail space at street level.  Groundbreaking is planned in June and the garage should be completed by the fall of 2020.

The second phase of the expansion will be a 135,000 square-foot tower that will be constructed at 100 East English, which now has a parking lot.  The building will include a large rooftop green space with grass and trees.  The tower should be completed in 2023, and it will be connected to the new parking garage.

Bank officials said the project will change the skyline of downtown Wichita.  They said the expansion is needed because of staffing growth over the past seven years.   Fidelity Bank has 485 employees in 20 offices in Wichita, Oklahoma City and Kansas City.
