Arkansas City police have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of child abuse and child endangerment.
A 20-month-old boy is hospitalized in Wichita with severe burns, and police said the man took the boy to an Arkansas City hospital on January 5th. Hospital officials reported the boy’s injuries to police and they searched his home, where they found an illegal firearm and items relating to drug use. The boy was later transferred to Wichita.
After more investigation, the man was arrested Tuesday and booked into the Cowley County jail on a bond of $76,000.
