The NFL community is sharing support for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin.
The 24-year-old Pitt alum is in critical condition after collapsing on the field following a hit with Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins in the first quarter of last night’s Monday Night Football matchup.
The Steelers organization tweeted that they were praying for Hamlin, as did Ben Roethlisberger. A host of other players, team officials, and coaches have posted similar sentiments. Fans have reached out to offer support in any way they can for Hamlin and his family, flooding a GoFundMe page set up to benefit his mother’s daycare with donations, now up over three-million dollars.
Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest following a hit in our game versus the Bengals. His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.
