UPDATE: Bond is being denied for the suspect in the deadly shooting of an Oklahoma County deputy. Thirty-five-year-old Benjamin Plank is accused of opening fire on Sergeant Bobby Swartz and deputy Mark Johns on Monday as they were serving an eviction notice at an Oklahoma City home.

Swartz was killed while Johns is hospitalized in stable condition.

After the shooting Plank fled the scene and led authorities on a chase, exchanging gunfire with officers before he surrendered at the main gate of Tinker Air Force Base.

Two Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputies were shot while serving eviction papers Monday morning, and one of them died later at a hospital.  The other deputy is in stable condition.

The deputies were shot while in the backyard of a house in southwest Oklahoma City.  Police say the suspect fled the scene in a pickup truck towing a boat. He was arrested after a short, high-speed chase that ended at the front gate of Tinker Air Force Base.  The suspect allegedly had a rifle and was shooting at deputies during the chase.

The deputy who died was later identified as Sergeant Bobby Swartz.
