Constitution Day is on September 17th, celebrating the anniversary of the day the Constitutional Convention signed and formally adopted the United States Constitution in 1787.  This year marks the 235th anniversary of the event.

Community members are invited to a ceremonial reading of the U.S. Constitution on the east steps of the United States District Courthouse in Wichita (401 North Market Street).

Constitution Day falls on a Saturday this year, so the ceremonial reading be on Friday, September 16th.

Participants include local Judges of the U.S. District Court, Kansas Court of Appeals and the Sedgwick County District Court, attorneys, members of the public and social studies students at Wichita-area schools.
