One person is dead and another person was hurt following a crash on the Kansas Turnpike near MacArthur. It happened about 8:30 p.m. Friday evening (April 1st).
According to the Highway Patrol and Kansas Turnpike Authority, a vehicle was heading south on I-35 when a man entered the roadway and was struck. He was later identified as 25 year old Domonic Gibson of Wichita. Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female passenger in the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
With emergency crews working the scene, southbound lanes of I-35 were closed at the East Kellogg exit for some time after the incident.
