Today, I salute Coast Guard Veteran Briana Brady. For the last two years, her day has started at 5:30 a.m. with kids, breakfast, packing lunches, putting them on the bus, then an hour and a half drive to college. After, it’s back home to get the kids off the bus, dinner, after-school activities, then her homework. Rinse, lather, and repeat. It’s been her routine for the last two years, and it hasn’t always been easy for the Natural Resources & the Environment major. She spent 6 years in the Coast Guard, where she met her husband, who still serves. Through all of this, she will graduate and is pursuing an environmental career that she wants, and is inspiring others, saying, If there is something you want to do, just do it. When she graduates from UCONN next month, she plans to move to Pennsylvania to be closer to family. Good luck, Briana, and THANK YOU for your service.
