Today, I salute Logistics Specialist Seaman Gianina Trevino from Wichita. Gianina is assigned to the forward-deployed USS New Orleans (LPD 18), a San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility, as part of the America Amphibious Ready Group. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Gianina was just recognized as the Blue Jacket of the Year award winner during a ceremony at Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo, April 11. The Navy’s Sailor of the Year program recognizes outstanding Sailors who best represent the ideals of the professional Sailor and the Navy. Congratulations, Gianina, and THANK YOU for your service.
