Ever since “She’s Somebody’s Daughter,” Drew Baldridge seems to have cracked the code on hitting that emotional button and connecting.
His current single, “Tough People,” is ready to crack the top 10, and I’d love to see it go #1.
That said, I’m not here to talk about that; I’m here to talk about an unreleased song he recently released on the socials, “Man Don’t.” Listen to him tell the real-life story and the words from his wife that inspired the song.
I listened to this song a couple of times, and what really stuck with me, almost triggered me, was even now, I have always equated manhood with being able to fix and build stuff, work on cars, be good with tools, ya know, manly stuff. I was raised by a single mom, and she did an amazing job, but short of a few male adults in my life, I didn’t have that consistent male figure in my life that a father provides. I always pointed to this as the reason for my insecurities.
This song, might just be the thing that finally changes the way I look at being a man.
Thanks Drew.
Give it a listen.
@drewbaldridgemusic Should I record this next week? It’s called A Man Don’t..
