Today, I salute Marine Veteran Timothy Leatherwood. Timothy had just settled into his flight leaving Denver with his headphones on when he heard a commotion. Hearing screams, he jumped up and ran to the back of the plane. There, he saw a man attempting to open the emergency exit door mid-flight. If he was successful, it would have put everyone on that plane in danger. Without hesitation, he began to wrestle with the man. With the help of other passengers, they were able to get his hand off the door and held him down until the plane was able to turn around and return to Denver International Airport. Thank you for using your Marine training to save lives, Timothy, and THANK YOU for your service.
