A storm system produced tornadoes across the Midwest and South, resulting in at least four deaths.  One death was reported in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and three others were reported in Tennessee.

The storm brought a destructive tornado to northeastern Arkansas Wednesday evening, where Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency. Other tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois and Tennessee.

The National Weather Service in Missouri said an EF-1 tornado moved through Nevada, causing damage to homes and businesses. One person was seriously injured. An EF-2 tornado was confirmed in Pilot Grove, and an EF-0 also briefly touched down northeast of Butler.

The storm brought historic amounts of rain across the region.  Rain levels that haven’t been seen in years are threatening catastrophic flooding as the system moves east. Hundreds of thousands of customers are without power from Alabama to Michigan and nearly one-point-five-million people are under flash flood warnings across six states.
