Today, the AWESOME is in Portland, Oregon. Since 2020, North Pole Studio has been open and providing a creative space for artists with disabilities to grow and pursue their passions while being supported on their journey. Co-founded by artists Sula Willson and Mary Ellen Andersen, founding artist Davis Wohlford, and advocate Sarah Mensah, the studio was created to be a welcoming and accessible space for neurodivergent artists. It is also a place where self-expression is celebrated, creative risks are encouraged, and diverse experiences are valued. It is also sustainable as the studio helps artists with opportunities to exhibit and sell their works of art. Creative minds and encouraging hearts displayed in one work of art at a time, THAT’S AWESOME.
