Today, we salute Vietnam Veterans Steven Oschmann and Michael Fischer. The two men have been friends for 25 years. One day, they had an idea: create a place for Veterans to gather and display military artifacts. What they created was “The Bunker.” It’s a military-themed bar and restaurant. “A place for veterans like ourselves to come and feel comfortable and talk about their experiences and just to be themselves,” Michael Fischer, who was in the Marines, said. For the last quarter century, Veterans have been doing just that. They get good food, and they are surrounded by military artifacts. Also, “The Bunker” doubles as the local VFW post. Thank you for taking care of other Veterans, Steve and Michael, and THANK YOU for your service.
