A northeast Kansas man has been charged in connection with damage that was reported to a Tesla vehicle in a Wichita parking lot.
The damage was discovered to a Tesla Model X vehicle on March 20th in a restaurant parking lot in northwest Wichita, and a key had been used to make scratches across the vehicle. A suspect was identified through surveillance cameras and police later took a suspect into custody.
The Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office said 30-year-old Johnathan Erhart of Jefferson County was charged with one count of criminal damage to property, a severity level 9 non-person felony. The charge has a sentence of 5 to 17 months. A first appearance will be scheduled in district court.
