The Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization is having an open house Wednesday to get public input on a regional transportation plan.
The long-range plan is called MTP 2050, and it will set priorities for transportation improvements throughout the Wichita metro region, including safety, reliable travel times, managing environmental and economic impacts, creating a more equitable transportation system, and improving connectivity for all modes of travel. The plan lists a number of projects related to streets, bike paths, walking trails and other transportation needs.
WAMPO is hosting an open house Wednesday, March 26, 2025, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce at 350 West Douglas. Wichita area residents can drop by to look over the plan and provide comment. There will be a brief presentation at 4:30 and again at 5:30.
The draft of MTP 2050 is available on the WAMPO website at www.wampo.org/mtp2050 for public review and comment, and the comment period is open through April 7th.
