Bel Aire officials have announced that Amazon will be building a new distribution facility this year.
Amazon has purchased 20 acres in Bel Aire’s Sunflower Commerce Park, and the company will build a 176,000 square-foot building that will serve as a last-mile delivery station. These types of facilities generally create more than 100 direct and indirect job opportunities while serving thousands of customers across Sedgwick County and beyond.
This will be Amazon’s first facility in Bel Aire and their third in the Greater Wichita region. Construction is expected to begin soon with a completion anticipated in late 2025.
This new last-mile facility will drive the final stage of Amazon’s fulfillment process, helping to ensure fast, everyday delivery to customers. Starting at further fulfillment and sortation centers, packages will be processed and prepared for last-mile delivery, improving delivery times for customers throughout the region and bringing even faster delivery to more rural communities.
