A Wichita woman has been charged in the fatal shooting of a seven-year-old boy.
In a court appearance Wednesday, 25-year-old Tasha Dillard was charged with first degree murder and seven counts of aggravated endangerment of a child. Her bond was set at $500,000 and her next court appearance was scheduled for March 31st.
Dillard was arrested early Sunday, March 16th in the 3700 block of East Ross Parkway, southeast of the intersection of Pawnee and Hillside in the Planeview neighborhood. Officers found seven-year-old Davion Gunter with a gunshot wound to his torso, and he died later at a hospital. Several adults and seven children were inside a home when the shooting happened, and police placed the children into protective custody. There has been no information released on the circumstances that led to the shooting.
