An Arkansas City man has been sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for possession of child pornography.
The sentence was given to 57-year-old Scott Vass after he pleaded guilty. In April, 2023 during the execution of a search warrant, FBI agents seized a number of devices with child sexual abuse materials. Prosecutors said several Google accounts for Vass also were found to have sexually explicit depictions of minors under 12 years of age.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
