A storm system has brought snow and blizzard conditions to western Kansas Kansas.

Interstate 70 has been closed from the Kansas-Colorado border to Wakeeney because of strong winds and snow.  Two to five inches could fall in northwest and north central areas of the state.  A blizzard warning has been issued

High wind warnings are also in effect for central and south central Kansas for northwest winds that will be 35 to 45 miles an hour with gusts up to 70.

South central Kansas is under a winter weather advisory, which includes McPherson, Reno, Harvey, Marion and Chase counties.   The south central part of the state could see a trace to two inches by Wednesday afternoon.  KFDI’s weather partners at KWCH, Storm Team 12 said any snow accumulation will mainly be on grassy areas, but low visibility and slick spots will make travel difficult for Tuesday night and early Wednesday.
