Teams set for NCAA Regional tournament in Wichita

Eight men’s college basketball teams will be in Wichita next weekend for regional games in the NCAA tournament.  INTRUST Bank Arena will host games in the West and Midwest Region.   Visit Wichita, Wichita State University, the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County are also serving as hosts for the tournament.

In the West Region, 6th seed Missouri will play 11th seed Drake on Thursday and the other game will match 3rd seed Texas Tech and 14th seed UNC-Wilmington.

Midwest Region games in Wichita on Thursday will have number one seed Houston playing 16th seed SIU-Edwardsville, and the other game will have 8th seed Gonzaga taking on 9th seed Georgia.

The Kansas Jayhawks will play in the West Regional in Providence, Rhode Island.  The 7th-seeded Jayhawks will play 10th seed Arkansas on Thursday at 6:10 p.m.

Wichita State University will play in the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and the Shockers will play their first game Tuesday evening at 8 at Oklahoma State.
