Officials are looking for a Salina woman who was arrested for the death of a child she was babysitting, after she walked away from a Wichita treatment center.
Salina police arrested 42-year-old Amanda Vinardi in January. She was babysitting four-month-old Elijah Wedel in April of 2024 when he was taken to a Salina hospital. The boy died and an autopsy determined that he had drugs in his system.
Vinardi was ordered by Saline County District Court to go into a treatment program in February. On March 4th, the facility in Wichita notified the Saline County Sheriff’s Office that Vinardi had walked away. Saline County officials have now issued a warrant for her arrest.
