Wichita State University and its W. Frank Barton School of Business have announced the winners of the 2025 Professor Fran Jabara Endowed Scholarship. They are Wyatt Ochs, a homeschool student from Wichita, and Jennifer C. Sanchez-Reyes from Derby High School.
Ochs has a 3.8 grade point average from the Ochs Academy homeschool and he currently owns a lawn business with over 50 customers and four employees. He said his goal is to take the knowledge he has learned from his current business and the knowledge he will learn at Wichita State to start a business in college and expand it after graduation.
Sanchez-Reyes has a grade point average of 4.15 who owns a small jewelry business and she has been involved with the National Honor Society and DECA. She said in a press release, “Now that I can further my education, I hope to be able to help my community achieve their business goals while also helping my own family.”
They will each receive more than $32,700 spread over four years to attend WSU and major or double-major in entrepreneurship.
