A Wichita woman has been sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a man outside a nightclub in 2020.

The judge gave 34-year-old Autumn Metcalf a life sentence with the possibility of parole after 50 years.  Metcalf was also given a consecutive sentence of 61 months for a conviction of solicitation to commit first degree murder.   She was convicted after a jury trial last August.

Metcalf was convicted for the August, 2020 shooting death of 33-year-old Joe Wheeler III outside the club Baby Dolls at 4900 North Arkansas.   Metcalf and Wheeler both worked at the club and prosecutors said the shooting followed an argument between the two.
