There will be a high danger of wildfires this week in south central and southeast Kansas, with an extreme fire danger in northern and northeastern areas of the state.
The National Weather Service said low relative humidity and gusty winds will create a very high grassland fire danger through the week, and outdoor burning is highly discouraged. Any fire that breaks out could spread very quickly because of the winds.
