Damage has been reported in southwest Kansas from high winds, with reports of damaged roofs, trees and power lines and semis blown over.

A wind gust of 85 miles an hour was reported in Garden City Tuesday afternoon.   Other locations were reporting gusts of 50 to 70 miles an hour.

Highway 50 was closed between Lakin and the Finney County line because of a crash and blowing dust.   There were reports of a number of crashes in Kearny County in western Kansas.

A high wind warning is in effect for most of Kansas until 9 a.m. Wednesday.
